Trash before the fire bird is a bit tricky. Have rogues or hunters mount up in stealth the 2 big red birds. Once the fight begins they will aim them towards the Egg Piles. Assign interrupters to each of the Harbingers and nuke them down one by one.

As the fight starts stay grouped up the 1st couple of seconds this will make healing easier as the boss does massive aoe damage to the entire raid. She then comes down to do a powerful cone attack in a line in front of her, spread out at this point and go for the feathers. Having one feather will increase movement speed and allow casting while moving, having 2 will increase movement further, having 3 will allow you to fly.

Healers should take 1, tanks should take 2, ppl who go up and fly should obviously take 3 any feathers left should be taken by whoever, caster or melee it doesn’t matter for the rest of the raid the advantage of having a feather will be felt in the tornado phase. I will get to that in a sec, 1st let’s see what happens on the ground.

On the ground it’s all about handling the adds. Split your raid into 2 large groups, one handles the left side of the arena, one the right side. The initiate is the druid caster one. Have some interrupters on this one. Interrupt Firoblast. Brushfire you can’t interrupt, it’s a large moving fire that you need to avoid. As a melee it is imperative that you stay behind the Initiate at all times. When he casts the uninterruptable cast, the Brushfire, take a step back and asses the situation, if he is targeting you go even further out to avoid it. You can keep capable melees on casters but I don’t recommend it. Your goal is to kill and interrupt them.

Notice the 2 large fire eggs in the center, That’s where 2 big adds, the hatchlings will spawn. Tanks position themselves closest to the eggs. The hatchlings, when they spawn, the will attack the nearest persons, in this case the tanks. They imprint themselves on the tanks and they will only attack only them until they die.

Your goal is to kill the hatchlings before tornado phase begins. The hatchlings have an interesting mechanic, imprinting themselves on the tank improves damage done by the tank to them by 1000%. Basically the tanks are the main dpsers of the hatchlings and a lot, a lot depends on how well they can actually dps.

At the same time the tanks need to bring the Hatchlings reasonably close to the lava worms. Lava worms exist only to be eaten by the hatchlings. When a Hatchling does Tantrum, his size increases and he does a lot more damage, that’s when your tank should take him close to a lava worm. Hatchling eats a lava worm and calms himself down. Tanks should use a cooldown on the Tantrum if no lava worm is around. This is why tanks should have 2 feathers, they will be faster at taking the add hatchling over the worm.

The hatchlings cleave and their hit box is much smaller than it is displayed.

On the ground the main focus should be: kill and interrupt the casters put as you can into the hatchlings.

You will want to have a couple of dps in the air. Start with 3 and you can send up more if your hatchlings die too fast. The job of the air team is to fly through the fire rings while avoiding the fire clowds. You don’t need to go exactly though the ring to get the buff, if you touch the edges it’s still good they don’t burn.

Flying though a ring will give you a 40 second buff that will increase your haste. Getting 25 stacks makes you are officially imba, you also get 75% extra crit for 40 seconds. Don’t confuse Blazing Power with the wings of flame buff, The wings of flame is the one that keeps you in the air for 20 seconds. It’s important to make the distinction between the 2 as ppl look at their Blazing Power, they see 15 seconds left on it then they fall to the ground and die and don’t know why.

Main issue here is not being able to go through a rings accurately enough. They disappear after 3 seconds, you need to be close and behind the boss to get them. Then there are also the fire clouds, they hit for 60k. Keep in mind there are no healers in range. If you hit one and then you fall you die, if you hit two in a row you will die. My advice is that if you hit a fire cloud just go back down and stay down until the next set of feathers drops. Don’t just go back up immediately because you are full on hp you are likely to fall down again from not having the flying buff.

Fire Tornado phase, this is the hardest phase of this fight. Most of your guild will need to see this video to reliably get through this phase alive. Yes it’s true it’s the love2playwow debuff.

When the tornados spawn look at the center to strafe them in time.

Two major ways for dealing with the tornados. 1st one: mark 2 locations, one on each side of the arena When the phase begins go to the closest. Move to a side when a tornado comes, move back in right after, a bit of a back and forth game. This method allows for aoe healing, and if you get hit by a tornado you are likely to get healed enough to survive another hit.

2nd method and preferred method is to chase a tornado until another one passes you by then chase the one that just went by until another one passes you by and so on. You are, in effect a tornado chaser, as long as you are able to turn around and switch lanes properly you should be able to make it through alive.

After tornados the fire bird is exhausted, she lands and it’s nuking time, use offensive cooldowns, until she reaches 50 energy you can nuke, healers should also dps for they will gain mana. Group up, from 50 to 100 she will need a tank, still do damage to her but use raid wide defensive cooldowns.

To sum it up main issues are: 1 ppl flying and dying, 2 killing the hatchlings before tornados, 3 surviving tornados.

======= Heroic ======

New on heroic, an un attackable druid in the middle summons a meteor. After it spawns the meteor rolls towards the edge of the arena. If it reaches the edge it shatters into smaller meteors and you don’t want that. You want to attack the meteor as fast as possible. Killing it will lock it in place and transform it into an object that you can use to line of sight.

That’s important for the next deadly ability the boss gains: Firestorm. During Firestorm you must line of sight the Alysrazor to survive. Easier said then done, some raiders have an issue with this since the boss is high up in the sky it’s sometimes difficult to spot the right location to be loss it when the bird is almost on top of a meteor. We found it helpful to set focus to Alysrazor and to use the minimap to position ourselves accordingly.

The lower team, as usual, has to deal with the Hatchlings and the Druids. More Hatchlings will spawn then on normal but they will have less hp.

The flying team has the some job as before except they need to come down and hide behind meteors on the Firestorm. That’s the key moment right there for the flying team. If you come down too early to take cover for the Firestorm, then when you fly back up you won’t reach a fire ring in time, you will fall and die. If you go back down too late, you Risk getting killed from firestorm.

So the Rings before and after Firestorm are the most important ones. You get those right and your good you’r golden the bird is as good as dead. Remember it’s a normal cast, letting you know fire is headed your way, and then a channeled, cast, that does the actual damage. Just before the normal cast you should have taken your last fire ring, and you should be on your way down to reach the meteor before the channeled one begins.

Immediately after firestorm go back up to take your next ring. If you missed the last ring before coming down it’s safest and best to take another feather from the floor.
