Spine of Deathwing, spine just sounds weird, I wish they would have thought of a different name. Anyways with proper tactics you will one shot this.
Parachute on top of Deathwing. Press escape to cancel the cinematic and begin the fight immediately.
You will be greeted by 4 Corruptions. Their main role is to place a nasty debuff called Searing Plasma. The debuff does manageable damage but more importantly it absorbs 200k healing before being removed.
Start the fight by killing 3 coruptions. Not all of them, you can’t kill them all. Killing the last one will only cause it to respawn itself and and extra add. For each coruption that you kill a new big add will spawn called Amalgamation. A bit to many to start with so let’s just get rid of the Amalgamations. Gather up in one of the fire puddles on one side of Deathwing. Your weight will cause Deathwing to become unbalanced and do a barrel roll, the adds and any unsecured players will fly off. Being in a fire puddle makes you secured to Deathwings back.
Time to kill another of those corruptions, this causes an Amalgamation to spawn and that’s exactly what we want. Notice the small adds, Corrupted Bloods. Kill them and they will leave a burning spot on the floor. Your tank then brings the previously mentioned Amalgamation onto the red spots to make the Amalgamation get stacks. The more Stacks it has the harder it hits. At 9 it starts doing AOE. It’s good to get the Amalgamation to 10% and then have it go over a bunch of burning spots so that it gains the last stacks in quick succession. It seems the burning spots slowly crawl to the nearest fire puddle to respawn when reaching it.
At 9 stacks kill it next to one of Deathwings plates. This will cause it to explode and expose a Burning Tendon. Your goal is to kill this tendon before the plate gets resealed. If you don’t manage to destroy the tendon before the plate gets resealed it’s not the end of the world but you will have to kill a new Amalgamation and have it explode again to gain access to the Tendon Again.
It’s best if you can kill a tendon in one attempt. We went with 1 tank and 6 dps in 10 man. It is doable with one tank because the small adds, the bloods, don’t melee for much. In 25 man bring 2 tanks, but then 6 healers should suffice.
Once the tendon is destroyed the plate falls off and you are one step closer to victory. 2 new coruptions will be revealed to make your life harder. At this point you have a total of 3 coruptions and 0 Amalgamations and your objective is to get 1 coruption and 1 Amalgamation. Too many coruptions right now so just finish off the oldest one. This causes an Amalgamation you don’t really need. Get rid of it with a barrel roll.
Now you have 2 coruptions , kill one to get the needed Amalgamation and you have reached your objective 1 Amalgamation 1 coruption. Dps and blow up this Amalgamation just like before to uncover another tendon.
You complete the fight once you destroy the 3rd tendon. As the fight progresses the risk is getting overruned by the small adds, the corrupted bloods. Unfortunately you can’t get rid of them with a barrel roll. They melee for little damage on tank.Killing too many of them can actually be bad because they respawn if the fire spot is not used and because upon death they explode for raid wide damage. It makes sense when going with 2 tanks not to kill more than 9-10 bloods per section. A risk is ppl not knowing the tactics and killing extra bloods or extra coruptions. When going with 1 tank in 10 man just kill the bloods as they spawn, preferably as close to center as possible.
