Ultraxion, quick guide.

When to press the button? That is the question. You see the cast, Hour of Twilight, you see the big purple sphere. Don’t press it don’t press it not just now, You’ll just go out of the twilight realm and you will get back in too soon. Hold on a little bit, put a bit more damage into the boss. When The hour of twilight cast is just about done, press it.

Each time hour of twilight is cast you need a minimum of ppl left outside to take some damage otherwise Ultraxion will be onto your little trickery and he will kill you. For 10 man 1 person is enough and that usually is the tank. In 25 men you need 3 ppl, that means the tank and 2 dps that can use defensive cooldowns. That means, Deterrence, Iceblock, Dispersion, Feint, Guardian Spirit and Grounding Totem. While in 10 man you don’t really need to organize much because the tanks alternate, in 25 man you will need to set up a 3 step rotation. That’s 2 dps for each cast, 6 in total. Players in the rotation should be given priority for rezzes. If ppl in the rotation keep dying you should add backup soacker, your most attentive dps, the take the spot of whoever dies.

You won’t need to press the button only for hour of twilight. There is another debuff in the mix, called Fading Light, starts with a random from 10 to 5 seconds. If it reaches 0 and you didn’t press the button you die. Again, don’t press the button too early, that is a common mistake, ppl just press it too soon ,go out of the twilight and back in just to die. Press the button with 3-2 seconds left on the debuff.

There are situations when the debuff Fading Light, goes into effect just as Hour of Twilight is getting cast. Don’t worry about that, just spam it as Hour if getting cast and you should be able to dodge it.

Healers will get some fun from this one. While healing starts fairly slow and there is no serious raid damage taken, the damage increases every minute and it starts going out of control towards the end because of the soft enrage ability: Unstable Monstrosity that deals periodic damage to the entire raid.

To better deal with this 3 crystals will spawn, 6 in 25 man that will improve healer capabilities. Each healer can only make use of one. Red crystal means 100% extra healing, it’s not recommended for Paladins and disc priests.

Green gives really valuable aoe heals, and should be taken by your best healers. Works for hots aswell.

Blue gives haste and mana.

Use 6 healers in 25 man, 3 or 2 in 10 man. You should be looking at an average of 27k dps or more. We used 2 healers in 10 man and it worked fine as well, since we had 1 minute left on enrage, there was no time for the damage to get out of control.

Tanks should taunt of each other immediately after Hour of Twilight. They should also switch between themselves when one of them gets the debuff, fading light. Tanks will get a buff which halves the cooldown for their defensive abilities and doubles their duration.
